Anchorite  (became Amphion) 22nd January 1946 Scrapped in August 1970 at Troon.
Amphion  (became Anchorite) 31st August 1944 Scrapped in July 1971 at Inverkeithing.
Andrew 6th April 1946 Unknown.
Artemis 26th August 1946 Sold for scrap in 1972.
Artful 22nd May 1947 Scrapped 1972
Astute 30th January 1945 Scrapped in October 1970 at Dunston.
Auriga 29th March 1945 Unknown.
Aurochs 8th July 1945 Scrapped in February 1967 at Troon.

HMS AFFRAY

NORMAN BEDFORD SMITH..  I believe my father Norman Bedford Smith (I think his nick name may have been Beddy) who died in 1964 served onboard the submarine HMS Affray during or just after the war but he would never talk about what he did.  My mother told me he had been in Marseille during the war and had also visited Russia.  I would so like to find more about him as a Chief Petty Officer and his life as a submariner.  Elizabeth Owen.  contact here
