Colbert Class Central Battery Ships The Colbert Class were the last French wooden sea going battleships. It had a armour belt which was 5ft 10 inches above and below the waterline. Colbert was built at Brest and laid down in 1870 , launched 16th September 1875 and completed two years later. Stricken form service in 1900.; Trident was built at Toulon and laid down in 1870 launched 9th November 1876 and launched in 1878. she was hulked in 1904.
