Colbert Class Central Battery Ships   

The Colbert Class were the last French wooden sea going battleships. It had a armour belt which was 5ft 10 inches above and below the waterline.   Colbert was built at Brest and laid down in 1870 , launched 16th September 1875 and completed two years later. Stricken form service in 1900.;  Trident was built at Toulon and laid down in 1870 launched 9th November 1876 and launched in 1878. she was hulked in 1904.

La Classe de Colbert était la dernière mer en bois française va des cuirassés. Il avait une ceinture d'armure qui était 5ft 10 pouces au-dessus de et au dessous de la ligne de flottaison. Colbert a été construit au plus Britannique et a déposé dans 1870, lancé 16e le 1875 septembre et a complété deux années plus tard. Le service frappé de forme dans 1900. ; le Trident a été construit à Toulon et a déposé dans 1870 lancé neuvième le 1876 novembre et lancé dans 1878. elle a été hulked en 1904.

Displacement: 8750 tons,  Speed: 14 Knots.  Crew 774. Armament: Eight 10.8 inch 18 cal. Mark 1870 main guns,  one and later two 9.4 inch guns M1870, ,  Eight later reduced to six 5.5 inch M1870 guns, and 14 / 18 1-pdr revolvers.
