Shoreham Class Sloop

History of the Shoreham Class Sloops. Developed from the Bridgewater Class Sloops, but with a longer hull, Built at Chatham and Devonport, Dockyards, The Shoreham Class Sloops, were laid down between 1929 and 1931. Eight Sloops made up the Class, with HMS Shoreham being the first launched followed by HMS Fowey, Bideford, Rochester, Dundee, Falmouth , Milford and Weston. After the war HMS Rochester became a tender to the Navigation School, HMS Falmouth became the RNVR Calliope in 1952. and HMS Fowey and HMS Shoreham were sold to the mercantile service.

HMS Shoreham	22nd November 1930		Sold for scrapping in 1946.
HMS Dundee	20th September 1932		Sunk on 15th September 1940 by German u-boat.
