HMS Mutine
The Mutine was one of six sloops ordered by the Admiralty c.1900.
Vessels of this class did not have a large fighting capacity, carrying
only six 4 ins quick firers as their principal armament. An accident in
her boiler rooms as she travelled from Birkenhead to Portsmouth which
resulted in some loss of life, gave her unwanted notoriety before her
career began in earnest.
