Durandal  Class.  French Destroyers of the Durandal class, including Durandal, Hallebarde, Fauconneau and Espingole.  Photos and history of the early French destroyers of the Durandal Class.

All four Destroyers were built by Normand and ordered on 25th August 1896. they were built with a turtledeck forecastle with two masts and two funnels.  This class had major problems with their boilers.

Durandal Classe. Les Destructeurs français de la classe de Durandal, y compris Durandal, Hallebarde, Fauconneau et Espingole. Les photos et l'histoire des destructeurs français premiers de la Classe de Durandal. Displacement: 296 tons, Crew: 52  Speed: 26 Knots, Armament: One 65 mm,  Six 47mm  and Two  15-inch Torpedo Tubes

Displacement 300 tons, speed 26 knots with a heavy gun of 9 pounds.
