The Vizcaya, an armoured cruiser of the Infanta Maria Teresa class. She was launched in July 1891 and sank on 3rd July 1898.  Photograph appeared in Navy and Army Illustrated, 23rd April 1898.

Original high quality naval magazine photograph published April 1898. Image 8" x 10" price £15.  Order code 6/100.

Vizcaya.

Based on the British Orlando Class.  When the USA sent the battleship USS Maine to Havana on a courtesy visit, the Spanish government sent the Vizcaya to New York.  However, when the Vizcaya arrived in New York, the USS Maine had already exploded in Havana, and the increasing tension between Spain and the USA meant the Vizcaya returned to Havana.
