USS Illinois	4th October 1898		Used as an armoury and an accommodation ship until sold for scrap in 1956. Renamed Prairie State in 1941.

USS Illinois		USS Illinois was launched in 1898 at Newport News. She measured 368 ft in length with a displacement of 11,565 tons and a speed of 16 knots.
USS Illinois - Photo published 1915.		The USS Illinois shown in a floating dock near Algiers in 1902. The lifting capacity of the floating dock is 20,000 tons.
