HMS Quail.

We think this photo is dated around 1909 to 1910, i.e. between when the collision damage from August 1908 was sustained and the post date of this postcard, 15th March 1910. The postcard had been sent by a crew member, describing how he was 'in serious trouble' with Sid Tuck, presumably another member of the crew or Captain.

Halifax, Canada, 1900.

Photo taken by a crew member of HMS Quail, which was 'hulked in' at Halifax for one month.  HMS Quail arrived at Charlottetown in July / August 1900 with HMS Crescent and HMS Tribune.  Presumably this photo is from that cruise, and the two large ships visible here are HMS Crescent (right, flying flag) and HMS Tribune.
