[UP] - Ariadne Class - Leipzig Class - Carola Class - Hela - Gazelle Class - Bremen Class - Dresden - Konigsberg Class - Magdeburg Class - Karlsruhe Class - Graudenz Class - Weisbaden Class - Konigsberg Class - Bussard Class - Gefion Class

German light cruisers of the Magdeburg Class, Magdeburg, Breslau, Strassburg and Stralsund. Built as part of the German 1908 naval programme, these light cruisers were fitted with armoured waterline for the first time.

Displacement: 4570 tons.  Length: 455 ft.  Breadth: 43 ft 11 in.  Draught: 16ft 10 in.   Speed: 25 knots.   Armament: twelve 10.5 cm guns, two 50 cm guns, one torpedo tube and 120 mines.

Magdeburg 13th May 1911 Sunk on 26th August 1914.
Breslau 16th May 1911 Sunk on 20th January 1918.
Strassburg 24th August 1911 Sunk on 23rd October 1943
Stralsund 4th November 1911 Broken up in 1935.

The German light cruiser Breslau shown flying the Turkish flag. The Breslau was used by the Turks in bombarding Russian Ports on the Black Sea on 29th October 1914.

Carl Proctor has suggested this is a German light cruiser of the Magdeburg class, and will be the Magdeburg, Breslau, Stassburg or Stralsund. Only the Magdeburg and Roon Class of the German Navy had 4 straight funnels with the Roons being larger.
