The battle involved intense fighting and resulted in significant casualties on both sides. Ultimately, the Coalition forces surrounded and defeated Napoleons army, leading to his retreat from Germany and marking a critical turning point in the campaign against his rule in Europe. The battle solidified the Coalitions resolve and paved the way for further military successes against France.
