Airfix HMS Belfast

I know I am not anywhere near in the league of you guys on here, but this one came from the heart! I made this for my girlfriends dads birthday last year. He served on HMS Quilliam during WW2, and it was my first model for over 20 years, and my first ship since I was a teenager.I enjoyed getting back into it, and next time I may even try that new fangled PE! It made him smile anyway, and that was the whole point. I chose the subject because he knew the ship well, and it was easy to get. My first time using acrylic paint too. What happened to enamels!!! All brush painted. The pics don't convey how small it really is!

Welcome to the dark side. Nice work with the hairy sticks. :D

Shows just how good results can be obtained, even from cheap (relatively) commercial models. As another example........my Airfix "VICTORY"

Great pics ... thanks. Have changed them to thumbnails as this is our preferred method of uploading images. The reason(s) for this, and how to upload in this fashion, is explained in this guidance thread: http://www.worldnavalships.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7500 Cheers
All brush painted.
It's nice an tidy! [thumbs up!] But I can't but help see the camo is different than the box top! Doesn't detract from the model, it detracts from the presentation methinks. Minor point! Photo etch eh? You've ambitions to feed the 'carpet monster' I see. :-)
