The TURBINIA - History in 1:250

Posts 1 to 3

It happend some 114 years ago, on a nice and sunny Saturday in June ... It happend during the grand Naval Review held to mark the 60th anniversary of the accession of Queen Victoria ... It happend on June, 26th 1897, when a small boat "stirred up" the festivities with its sudden and dramatic appearance ... It happend on that very day, that TURBINIA made its famous high speed runs under the eyes of the Royals and the Admirality, and led ships propulsion into the turbine-age ... Starting with some "practice exercising" on CorelDRAW, i finally ended up with the small card model of Parson´s TURBINIA in 1:250 scale. Measuring just a little less than 12cm (~4.5 in) there is not very much in detail, but i think, i catched the main characteristics pretty well ;) Rgds Peter

A beautiful Job!

I did these on Corel Draw, but never followed it up, I think I have them on floppy disc some where. They are 1/72 scale , with the small 'C' class reduced by 50% to 1 /144 Regards jim
