HMS Exeter and Ajax 1937-38 South America Cruise

Posts 1 to 13

These just came into my mailbox this weekend, a few of many, taken of EXETER and AJAX around 1936, 37 SA cruises.... more to come if you folks like them. These have been re sized, fixed, enhanced from some really bad originals. Some of the locations may be incorrect based on the collection description...I especially like the Cairn for Shackelton with the ship background, never seen any of these before......

a few more coming in, very nostalgic to go through these there are lots more, I hope you good folks all enjoy these perhaps never before seen images.... I am putting an entire DVD pictorial on these, in hi resolution, for sale once I have finished with photoshopping these....

and a few more if you please... the album I have has plenty of vista views of city skylines that I dont recognize but its like looking at a time capsule of the late 1930s.... does Rio have the Sugar Loaf Mountain and the Big JC statue? I have not contributed very much in pictures lately, but when I got the DVD the other day, thought you lads would love to have boo at these.

and a bunch more...these are downsized from 6meg files so they are still coming up nice and sharp....the trolley car was taken by an EXETER crewmember which I thought was just an okay I was there shot and then I spotted the MAN on top .... no explanation
Some really good pictures Ray - thanks very much for posting them - really appreciated. :)
Ray, I wouldn't try selling them. The photo's are from a cd available on eBay from Throughtheireyes2. The album is called "Images from original photo album HMS EXETER 1936-39" Album belonged to C.L. Embleton P.O.S.M. It's available to buy for around £5.00 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CD-IMAGES-ORIGINAL-PHOTO-ALBUM-HMS-EXETER-1936-39-/110606619301?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item19c0ab12a5
Fantastic pictures - many thanks But Who's the crazy bugger riding atop the trolley car!!!!!!
I know that and there are a couple more like that....must be some ride. I wont be posting any more from the DVD I got which had NOTHING written on it so I knew nothing where, who what and when.... Some of the cityscapes were really neat but have no idea what city or harbor..... a little time capsule in the least.... thanks gents
