HMS Dreadnought in 350th

Posts 1 to 8

The Russian company "Zvesda",have announced a 350th kit HMS Dreadnought 1906,I`m very pleased with that! Cheers Phil

The Hobby company state that the price for this kit in the UK will be £45,not bad by comparision will some of the Far-Eastern kits we get. Cheers Phil

Phil, know it's a new kit, but any word on quality of the product? I've always wanted to build a Dreadnought in 1/350 (my eyes don't like anything smaller -- :) ) to sit with the other end of the spectrum, my 1/350 Missouri. Being our maestro of modeling, figured you'd have the word! I assume there are PE kits for this scale? Regards,

Cheers Phil

Hi all, I'v built the 1/350 ISW HMS Dreadnought and it was certainly not easy! Althought With the help of the excellent book "Anatomy of the ship" by Conway, you can enhance detail almost indefinitely. From Zvesda, I've built the cruiser "Varyag" and the battleship "Orel", russian pre-dreadnought and both kits were actually very good. PE-frest can be ordered from WEM for both these kits and it is also interesting to know that the Zvesda "HMS Dreadnought" AND the appropriate PE-fret can be pre-ordered on the WEM-website. I'm looking forward to build the Zvesda-kit too. Cheers, Marc

I got this kit today, and first impressions are very good,it will make an excellent basis for an outstanding model of this important warship Cheers Phil

Thanks for the update Phil -- Dreadnought has always been on my "wanna build" list in 1/350 to match up with my USS Missouri, sort of a "first and last" grouping. Does this kit have the metal gun barrels which always look so much better? Whenever my wallet has something in it besides starving moths, I will give her a go! Regards
