Getting a Model of HMAS Perth ?

Posts 1 to 6

Does anyone know where i can get a model of HMAS Perth in the Uk i have tried on the net and shops in town no luck only seen them for import from Australia. Regards Rob

Hi Rob, As far as I know ,there are no model kits available of HMAS Perth(or Sydney ,and Hobart). The only other alternative is to scratch-build,and the Perth is one of my future builds,in 350th. Sorry ,Phil

Thanks Phil that's a shame let me know how it goes :)

Which Perth? Leander, Charles F Adams or Anzac Class? All 3 are available in Asutralia in 1/72 if you want a large one.

Hello Medway im wanting the WW2 Perth nothing to big as it will be my first one since i was a kid:D

A starting point for a modifed Leander like HMAS Perth (in 1/600) is a Leander Class cruiser. The Australian Capital Territory Scale Modeller's Society, of which I am a member, built several small models of HMAS Perth for the Australian War Memorial. We based the models on the Airfix HMS Ajax. The skills required to make the parts for the modification are not beyond the skills of the average modeller. This is the URL for a reasonable set of plans that could be used for a small Perth: http://www.perthone.com/05-Webb-PERTH-Drawing.jpg The URL of the parent site is: http://www.perthone.com/perth.htm

Everything we obtain for this site is shown on the site, we do not have any more photos, crew lists or further information on any of the ships.
