HMCS Patriot

Posts 1 to 6

Hello I was wondering if our British shipmates can identify this class of ship. Its 1922 of the coast of Bermuda. HMCS Patriot is being towed in for repairs. Also are there any model kits of this ship Thanks in advance ONG

Whether any commercial kits exist I know not, but PATRIOT was a 'M' Class Destroyer, built at Southampton and launched 1916. She was transferred to RCN in 1920 and scrapped in 1929.

Hi ONG, this is a painting I did of Patriot in WW1. She was the first ship to sink a submarine using her own Air Element. She was transfered to Canada after the war, and at one time she was the only ship in the RCN. The pic shows her streaming her observation ballon leaving Scapa Flow. The Mary Rose by White Ensign Models is the closest you will come to a model kit of Patriot. http://www.whiteensignmodels.com/acatalog/index.html For other Canadian ships Models, www.resinshipyard.com

Thanks for your responses, Vegaskip great job! Really well done Bravo Zulu! Captures a moment in time never again to happen. Cheers ONG
