Just recently acquired a set of blueprints for HMCS Athabaskan. Looking for a set for HMCS Terra Nova (any IRE will do in a pinch) or HMCS Saskatchewan. If anybody has any for sale or can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks

There was a company called vanguard in Canada who put out a range of RCN drawings including St.Laurent. Don't know if they are still around or produced plans of these.

The Hobby Centre in Ottawa now carries Vanguard Plans. I was one of the founders many years ago. www.hobcen.wordpress.com/vanguard-plans If that doesn't work, just google The Hobby Centre+Vanguard They have drawings, as has been stated, of St Laurent and Annapolis, but alas, no Saskatchewan (my first ship as Supply Officer). You might ask Darren at The Resin Shipyard. I provided him with some Restigouche Class drawings some time ago.

and from those beautiful Vanguard Plans of yours came these two ladies in 1/72 scale.

Guys can you please post any information and or pictures of models in our models/modelling section?? Many thanks.
and from those beautiful Vanguard Plans of yours came these two ladies in 1/72 scale.
I wish I could claim authorship of the DDE/DDH drawings, but they were drawn by Doug Munro, one of my partners in the venture. He was a very accomplished draftsman.

Or maybe point me in the direction of where you got yours? My father in law is recovering from chemo, and he's always had an interest in ship blueprints, and mentioned the Athabaskan specifically, and I thought it would be a good get well present. Thank you in advance!
and from those beautiful Vanguard Plans of yours came these two ladies in 1/72 scale.
Medway: Just stumbled across this thread - what an absolutely beautiful pair of models. Interesting to see "Sally" in her two tone paint scheme. May I ask where were the photos taken?

Dear Scine, if you go to the Tribals thread you will find the original builders plans i scanned in and posted for HMS Ashanti; these came from the Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London. Good luck to your father and family, i hope he will enjoy them tim
and from those beautiful Vanguard Plans of yours came these two ladies in 1/72 scale.
As one who spent all of 1966 as a crew member of Annapolis, it's fantastic to actually see a model of her. Really excellent job !!

Great to see that there is some interest in Canadian ships "down under!"

There are a couple of Tribals (the modern ones) and Halifaxes being built too.

Medway 508: We from the up-over land look forward to the results of the down-under efforts. I had the pleasure of touring HMCS Halifax today. She is near the end of her post FELEX refit trials and work-ups. Meanwhile, two of the three surviving Iroquois/Tribal Class ships are here in Halifax but their seagoing lives are rapidly drawing to a close. Brian

The St.Laurents werebult here by Aussies who have a soft spot for Type 12s and figure that they are near relatives of them. The more modern ones are being built by ex RAN types who have seen them in action. The St.L hulls are available from Oz and the modern ones by one of our colleagues in Canada.

Beautiful models indeed!
