Dragon Models 1/350 Scale Warship Survey

Posts 1 to 5

Gentlemen, There is survey being carried out [URL="http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=57456"/URL]for forthcoming models. This survey is being closed in a week's time and the author would like to see five preferences listed. The only stipulation is that the models have not been produced or are not known to be under production/planned by any other company. There seems too be a fair showing for models of RN Warships. The scale for these injection molded plastic models is 1/350. If anybody has an interest in this aspect of ship modelling it would be a good time to show up on the modelwarship forum and vote. There is a dearth of good plastic models of the RN and this might just be an opportunity to adjust this imbalance. Dear Moderators : can this be placed in a thread where there may well be a wider audience. Regards, Hugh Williams

The result of this poll are in ,and surprise ,surprise,Royal Navy vessels got 4 out of the 5 top choices,HMS Nelson (Battleship)came first, followed by a County Class cruiser.Only one US ship was in the 5,an Atlanta class AA cruiser. Makes you think dunnit! Cheers,Phil

makes me think they'll be making either an Atlanta class AA cruiser, or the Tirpitz next ;) :p

I'd certainly buy a County class cruiser to add to the pile of boxes that call my name every time I walk past!

I wonder why an Atlanta class cruiser would be picked, as there are many already out there, quality issues aside. A late war or post war edition isn't common, though. I still feel there should be an HMS Tiger (WWI) and don't see anything in 1/350 out there. A real shame. Of course, since I want one for my next project, there may be a bit of bias here. She was a beautifully designed piece of work and went to an early grave entirely unnecessarily. Refitted like Renown, she could have done well in WWII. And their are Nelson/Rodneys galore out there, which would have pleased ol' Eustace no end. I thought the survey was looking for material not previously produced...oh, well.
