Thankyou for posting these Swain...(although it's sad to think that many of these men would have lost their lives)...I'm sure that these photos will mean a lot to any loved ones still surviving (and their extended families.) At least it shows them being happy. Sorry I can't help you much with any specific information about Cyril Young...however, my Mother keeps in contact (generally via "snail" mail) with a sister of one of the men (Charles Edward Conlan), who lost his life when HMS Repulse went down. One their other brothers, ("Bob"), was a very close friend of our family in Australia. I have posted a bit about this in the thread: "Naval Disasters that have touched you the most", after qprdave's initial post #7, which gave a report from the "Times" written the day after HMS Repulse was sunk. My posts start at #190. Unfortunately the attachment at 190 doesn't work, so I have repeated it at post 194. (It's a copy of Charles Conlan's Seaman's Will.) At post #195 there is a picture of the Plymouth Hoe memorial where the men who were lost with the Repulse have their names recorded. (Thus, I should imagine that your Cyril Young would be amongst them.) I also have one more post there that relates to the Repulse and that is at post #200...which also directs you to qprdave's list re: HMS Repulse on the "Crew Losses" thread. His post on this is #112. Hope some of this is helpful to you. Regards, Bee

Swain, thanks for posting these photo's I'm sure they'll be of great interest. The ship in the last of your photo's is Hms Decoy H75, there are very few decent photo's of her available, so it was great to see another one of her. Regards Alan

Hi, Yet more photos from Cyril's album. I'll leave it to the experts to name the ships and I'm sure you'll get them all. I have enlarged a section from the smoking one so you may get it from the outline.

Hi, Some more shot to go at...

Good day! British 'alfabet' destroyer with pennant number H75 - is HMS Decoy - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Decoy_(H75) Japanese naval vessel on №№ 5-6 photos - the destroyer Yamakaze - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_destroyer_Yamakaze It would be fine, if you have placed larger versions of these two photos. It is in advance grateful. :)

H75, unusual set up for smoke stacks 2 sets @2 abreast, how many boilers had ships of this type or did one boiler have 2 outlets ie: 2 boiler rooms each having two stacks----very unusual.
H75, unusual set up for smoke stacks 2 sets @2 abreast...
Those are two destroyers alongside one another. Neat illusion, though!

Swain thanks for posting these photos but please could you keep them all in the one thread rather than start a new one for each post. I have moved them all together.
