Here I go again one of these days I will succeed in loading some of these photos on board.

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum. Do you want to share your problems with us? You won't be the first to have problems and asked for help. We usually manage to put people right. Give it a whirl! Bob.

Hi Paul - I thought you had managed to sort out any problems with posting pictures here. Send me a PM with where you have got to with this and I am sure we can sort this through together!

Hi Paul, Merry Christmas to you! Thanks for posting these pics. I have seen something very similar to the boxing match photo and the "not sinking" photo in one of Doug.Birch's threads on HMS Fencer. The latter is quite remarkable; what must it have been like to be on board in those seas. best regards, Vivian

Great photos Paul. I knew you would get there in the end and it has been well worth the wait!!

Thanks again Paul although I think you will need to rescan the last one at a viewable size!! :) In view of these excellent photographs I have renamed the thread to a more appropriate title than "keep on trying" and have moved them to our photogalleries section. I have sent you a PM to explain.

I have resized these few.

Thank you for sharing them with us Paul. It is a good thing that they have got to see the light of day and especially when they have been appreciated by so many members here. I strongly believe that all people with photographs of these magnificent old ships should rather than leaving them to gather dust in some album or other, upload them to forums such as these to be remembered and appreciated. As the owner of a large collection of postcards and photographs, showing them was the driving factor for me joining this great forum and I know that it is the same for many other members here. Of course exactly the same principle applies for members with memories and anecdotes to share - they are equally as important as photographs and in the same way help to keep our history alive....

I know he would be able to tell you a few stories about what he had seen and done as many others could. There was one where he told use where he tryed to teach his mate to swim in a horse trough which wasn't to hard to imagine, and thought it would have been very funny both been blind drunk at the time. So thank you Terry It makes me feel proud to be a son of this man.

Hi Paul, can you post the rest of Jim's story please, it's good to read about him and see that he was mentioned in dispatches. I had to laugh at the horse trough swimming lesson. Can just picture it. Thanks for all you have shared here, and I'm sure that your Dad has always been very proud of you. best regards, Vivian

Thank you Vivian this is the last of of the page's he had written I know he was proud of what I had become and made of myself.
