HMAS Sydney WWI Light Cruiser

Posts 1 to 6

Can any one provide links to some good pics of HMAS Sydney? I`m building a model of this ship to go with my SMS Emden, Russian light cruiser Zhemchug, and French torpedo boat Mousquet. Thumb nails would be appreciated as well. Many Thanks.

GoneAsiatic, (any chance of a first name) I assume you've run a search on the forum? There are several photo's of Hmas Sydney on here, especially one posted in the special warships photgraphs thread. Regards Alan

Agreed Alan they are a lot of pics of HMAS Sydney (1) on here. Plans are available from the RAN on disc for building most classes of RAN ships. Good luck with your model. Cheers Jack:cool:

For pictures of HMAS Sydney (and a lot of other RAN and RN ships) go to the State Library of Victoria and do a new style search. http://search.slv.vic.gov.au/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?vid=MAIN&fromLogin=true Search "warships" or "HMAS" The Naval Historical Society doesn't have plans of Sydney (I) but if you go to the National Archives of Australia Record Search and log in as a guest (http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/recordsearch/index.aspx) and then serach the string "HMAS Sydney" and Reference numbers "MP551/1" you will find some "as fitted" drawings online.

Everything we obtain for this site is shown on the site, we do not have any more photos, crew lists or further information on any of the ships.
