World Warships in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour

Hong Kong was once regarded as an exotic location. Now it's just huge - one of the most towering cities in the world. Still, as with the World Warships and Sydney HarbourBridge thread - I feel there must by many forumers who might enjoy participating with some interesting pics. There must by so many from its days as a Treaty Port and Crown Colony. Here are some to get things started: Ships from France, USN, RN, RAN, and PLAN. BTW there is a caption with the first of the US Navy History Centre's aerial shot of Victoria Harbour in the 1930s, which may help with the on-going ships identification discussion of similar shots on the 'Shanghai 1937' thread photos. The ships identified with this shot (but not all), l-r are: France's [I]Lamotte Picquet [/I]; submarine tender HMS [I]Medway[/I] with submarines; HMS [I]Hermes[/I]; USS [I]Augusta[/I];USS [I]Blackhawk[/I] (AD-9); HMS [I]Berwick[/I]; HMS Cumberland; and USS Isobel. EDIT: actually that stated l-r formula does seem to make sense - seems to work a semi-circle of ships out in the Harbour closing in to those at the wharves. And cruiser USS Rochester is in the foreground of the last pic.
