Rgds Rik
If it was unclassified, likely as it was just a Diesel Engine manual, then it may be possible to purchase a copy from what used to be Her Majesty's Stationery Office. Another option is to contact HMS Sultan, the Marine Engineering School, that may be able to provide a copy. Cheers, Ed

Rgds Rik
Rik, the BR 1332 series were not restricted. "Handbooks and Parts and Allowance Lists for Admiralty Standard Diesel Engines, Range 2,(ASR2)" There are seven (7) parts to it. You want Parts (1) and (1)A. " Propelling machinery, Inshore Inshore Minesweepers, Type 1." The others are: Parts (2) and (2)A. "Minesweeping Generators, Inshore Minesweepers, Type 1." Parts (3) and (3)A. "Propelling Machinery, Inshore Minesweepers, Type 2A." Parts (4) and (4)A. "Propelling Machinery, Seaward Defence Boats, (Self-Change Gearing)" Parts (5) and (5)A. ""Propelling Machinery, Seaward Defence Boats, (Allen Gearing)" Parts (12) and (12)A. "Type 12YHAZ, for 200kW.A.C. Generators." Parts (13) and (13)A. "Type 12YHAZ, for 150kW.A.C. Generators."

All, In my new role since leaving the RN in 2012, I work for a large defence contractor. I am now the Technical Publications Officer, and as such I have 'contacts' in Bicester, HMS Sultan's tech library, HMS Collingwood's tech library and BAE Systems' Handbook Management Team. If you would like some contact details for Bicester, let me know by PM and I will pass them on - it might get 'something'. Please, only genuine requests as this information will be given on the understanding it is for use in resolving the original thread post. Regards, Craig. P.S. Since Llangennech (sp?) closed in the early 2000's, Bicester has taken over all 3 services book issues and controls.

I Have a B.R.16 (50) Engineering Manual for Her Majesty's Fleet Don't know if that's any good ? Dave

What subjects does that BR cover Dave?
What subjects does that BR cover Dave?
Go on, Have a guess!.. It is the Bible for Engineering Officers. It is not technically specific to the nuts and bolts of machinery; but if an Engineering Officer fails to comply with it, he ends up in a Courts Martial. So it is pretty important, shipmate! B.R. 16 was the key to any Engineer's officers career. It outlines what the Admiralty expects of any Engineer in a warship to know, and enforce.

Thank's Andy. It must be a very thin book. Anticipating incoming from Keith.
