Zulu War Naval Brigade

Posts 1 to 3

I am researching the part played by the Royal Navy and Marines in the Zulu War. Of interest are the personal stories, and photographs, of the officers and men. I have found a few, but am still looking for more. I would be happy to try and answer questions anyone has regarding the Naval Brigade, and those who served aboard ship during the war. Petty Officer Tom

Hope this link is of some interest to you http://neptune.servers.rbl-mer.misp.co.uk/~thebluej/zulu.htm Sigurd83

Sigurd83, Thank you for your response. My initial post may have caused a little confusion. I have been conducting my search for information on the Naval Brigade for over 12 years, and have read most of what has been written on the subject. I am looking for first person accounts by those who were there – diaries, letters, etc. - to add a little life to the story of the Naval Brigade, as well as those who remained aboard ship. I have the service records for almost all of the sailors who were entitled to the South Africa Medal. If you have a naval ancestor who served in the Zulu War I will be happy to send you a copy of his record. Tom
