Well we have done the Town Class and off shoots so this gallery is for all the other post-1925 Royal Navy cruisers. I will get it started...

As this thread never really got off the ground, and no-one has replied to Terry's excellent pix after 2 years, it's time to resurrect it. Here are a few more post war cruisers. Feel free to add to them.

Have no idea of the origins of first picture, just found copy of it among my photos.............however............ HMS CEYLON leaving Hong Kong, October 1959 (I should be amongt those fallen in by A Turret). HMS CEYLON at Malta, given to me by ex-POSA(S) Bob Dewell who was onboard at time, believed to be taken in Malta en-route home from East Indies 1946.

This is a good thread. HMS Diadem, one of my favourite Cruisers of period of WWII (other favourites are HMS Exeter and HMAS Perth). I have tried to avoid duplicating the photos of HMS Diadem in Batstiger's post of 2008 as below. DORSETSHIRE was credited with putting the final torpedoes into the battleship and sinking her.

Well done Cylla..............much better than my effort, which was a photo-copy of a photo..........and I have no idea of it's origins. Good photo though, probably one of the last of her before she got sold.

Scurs I am not(r) not responsible for that black smoke coming out of the stack, my station was in the engine room making sure you were all getting fresh water ----not guilty m`lord!!!!!! Good photo of the old girl, can I have your permission to upload it Cyll ?

A favourite spot for photographing these cruisers was from the saluting base at Singapore when saluting for ceremonial departures/arrivals. This picture shows the saluting guns being fired.

There were few more handsome cruisers than the Colony class. An evocative picture of the colony class cruiser GAMBIA transiting the Gibraltar Strait on route to the Middle East in 1958, at the time of the growing troubles in Aden (from “Safeguarding the Nation, the story of the Modern Royal Navy”). Two more cruisers, BERMUDA and SHEFFIELD were involved in the crisis in the Eastern Mediterranean off Jordan at the time.

Unfortunately, most of my colour photo's of WW2 cruisers show them awaiting scrapping or being scrapped. Again unfortunately, I can't post them publically as they've been sent to me for personal use only. Sorry !!

You're very welcome Terry :) It was with a number of photo's i was given when a friends father passed away (Ex C.P.O) he also gave me a scratch built model of H.M.S. Quorn (The Hunt Class Destroyer) I'll post a pic in the modelling forum soon. Regards,Mark.
