Hello All,does anyone have any photographs or drawings of the stern oerlikon mounting on this MMS ?,i've only seen two boats with this mount, nos 16 and 30,i assume both being early boats it was discontinued,i'm building a large model of this boat and i would like to see how the gun tub is mounted on the deck as it is quite narrow at that point. Hello, thanks for your replies,it's the mounting from the deck to the gun platform I'm not sure about,it's a single mount which I'm aware of. As the deck is so narrow and allowing for the sweeping cables I would think it would be very tight for the supports. It would be good if someone had a photograph (or plan) showing how the platform is supported. Is there a minesweeper forum,or veterans forum ? David5

Hi David , send" tonclass" a PM [private message] as he is a Moderator who served on Minesweepers and Im sure he might be able to help you or point you in the right direction

Hello ivorthediver, thanks for the idea,I've done just that, hopefully he can help. David5

This is the clearest shot I have of the aft gun mount on an MMS. Don't know which number she was though

Hi Tonclass, thanks for that, but it's not the one I'm looking for,it's the bandstand over the stern mounting the Oerlikon,I've only seen it on two boats 16 & 30. Any help appreciated. David 5

Thanks, Jim.

I have a pic of MMS 36 with a bandstand, but it's not a very clear shot of the gun mount.
