HMS Repulse 1916

Posts 1 to 4

This is my build of the 350th Trumpeter kit ,backdated to depict her as she appeared when first completed in 1916.This required much work ,and assistance from the plans in the Ensign No8 ,however it was a very enjoyable experience and went almost without a hitch. If anyone is interested follow this link to see how I did it: http://www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=76788 Cheers Phil

Another outstanding looking piece of work, Phil. Checked the website for all the modifications you needed to get the ship in her WWI condition -- you had the plans in hand, I see! Thanks for posting these shots.

A beautiful model indeed! The early dreadnoughts were absolutely fabulous looking ships, what with those clean decks; absence of clutter and elegant lines, which enhance the massive guns. I wonder if the recent ACADEMY 1/350 HMS Warspite can alse be backdated to its WWI configuration? Must be quite a challenge too. Congratulations!

Phil, lookin good! I'm surprised to see grey turret tops. I thought they were black, or a near-black grey. I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just asking if there is definite information about the colour scheme. By the way, the sea 'looks right!' as it rolls along the hull. [thumbs up]

Everything we obtain for this site is shown on the site, we do not have any more photos, crew lists or further information on any of the ships.
