Hello Doru, Glad to see you have your thread title back. I don't think anyone took offence. Some small details sometimes get lost in the translation and I know the Moderators make changes for the best of reasons and hopefully in the full interest of the forum - I for one am enjoying immensely your posts - that was and is some Navy to be proud of as I am sure you are. This is my beloved ship from Romanian Royal Navy , minelayer AMIRAL MURGESCU . "Amiral murgescu " leaded the minelaying arround Romanian coast and shot down more soviet planes than other romanian ship(12) . As other ships , after 23 august 1944 , the minelayer was "captured" by the soviets but never returned in Romania . In Soviet Navy , "AMIRAL MURGESCU"-renamed DON , was in the first phase minelayer and after training-ship .

Dear STEVE ! Two friends , romanian and soviet , did a business . Romanian proposed to split the benefit fifty-fifty , but soviet refuses ! He said we will split benefit brotherly !!!

Picture from the yard of Romanian Navy Museum . From the left side , turret of Bratianu-class monitor , turret of King Ferdinand-class destroyer and the third seems to be a turret from Amiral Murgescu-class(?)(a sister ship "Cetatea Alba"(White Fortress) was never complete) .

I visited some years ago Romanian Navy Museum and I found manny interesting and strange things there . As I know Romanian Royal Airforce doesn't used during WW2 radio-guided bombs , neither the germans during actions in Black Sea . Probablly there is a copy made by "Big Brother" of a german radio-guided bomb like manny other warfare made "original" in Soviet Union (example the AK-47 (sturmgewehr),the car LADA 1500 (FIAT124), etc.) .Soviets taked technollogy and improve it .

In Romanian Royal Navy served in 19'th century also torpedoboats built by YARROW ! In this pics are torpedoboats HAWK and EAGLE (SOIMUL and VULTURUL) .

Dear KEBLIN , The red arrows on this picture is not my creation but , in this picture there are four romanian ships : Emperor Traian , Carol 1 and Dacia(in the future minelayers) and in the verry background ship Romania .

Great pics Antoin, surely these ships must hold the record for number of guns for size of ship, and they would make great models. Regards

For VEGASKIP , Romanian Danube-monitors were well armed but I don't think that is an record of armement/size of the ship . Here is the schema of the armement of Bratianu-class monitors , unfortunally in russian (they are more interested for their ships even captured !!!) , but I'm sure you mannage this litlle problem . I see what you mean Dopu,After storing away all the amunition there could not have been much space for the crew, which must have been quite large to man all those guns. Regards

The Royal yacht "LUCEAFARUL" (ex-NAHLIN) was renamed after WW2 by the comunists "LIBERTATEA" ('FREEDOM' (freedom for who?)). Nevertheless during hosting comunist staff the yacht looks great !

Sister-ship of BRATIANU-class monitor , austro-hungarian monitor BODROG (after WW1 yugoslavian monitor SAVA). They were sister-ships but they had a minor difference : Bratianu has three main guns and Bodrog only two .
