Here's Chichester's crew on the first commission - 1958 to 1959. Sorry if it's been posted before.

I have "connections" to CHI's first commission........she was involved (with CEYLON) in taking last British troops from Aqaba in 1958, then in 1959 she was part of escort for Royal Yacht and was just astern of us.
Hi Jim, Joined CHI, September 1967 at Pompey. As you rightly say, I, like you, was FC2 and a two badged AB. As I recall the forrard Seaman's Mess had 4 bunks, which were claimed by the 4 senior ratings in mess.........one of which was yours truly. However, the 5th senior AB dipped in, because I opted to sleep in Routine Office on a camp bed, (The only person onboard under the rank of Officer, with his own lockable "cabin" :D), perks of GOW! :D
Hiya Scurs .. when you have done a good bit of time , it,s about time to got a few perks ..L.O.L

My "Townie" and best man at my wedding, was on the Chichester after we served on the Ark together. He was a Radar Plotter and, I think, when he was on the Chichester he was the Navigators Yeoman, he later went into boats. I have just rescanned these two photos which, I believe, were taken of the Chichester during a visit to Sunderland 1967/8 ish. These are of the Focsle Party - anyone recognise themselves, or can date the visit? Jim

Well I damn well OUGHT to Jim, as I was onboard at the time..........sadly I do don't as memory of faces has never been one of my stronger points. I was usually excused such things as depicted, but when involved was up on Bridge as Jimmy's messenger. I do remember the visit though..........ask your townie if his skipper was Commander Tim Kitson, and the Jimmy, Lieut-Commander "Dicky" Bird, - if answer is "yes" it was my time on the ship.
