HMS Manxman Conversion

Posts 1 to 50

Although built a couple of years ago now , and enjoyed very Much , as I have gained more experience in modelling , I think its time to give the old girl a dust off and refurb . Still got plenty to do on my other models but as things have moved on a tad , I am toying with the Idea of removing the very bulky and heavy 12v Sealed Lead Acid battery and replacing it with the more up to date and much lighter Lipo battery ...about the same size as the one I put in HMS TROUBRIDGE an 11.3vLipo which would be about a quarter of the weight of original Battery fitted Anything I should watch out for that is not obvious lads

Go for it Ivor.;) Sandy.

Thanks for looking in Sandy , will no doubt end up changing al sorts of things as well but not even in the dry dock..... yet as her big Sister is still preventing us from using the dining room table ....but a think it may end up as a winter project . I always had issues with the depth that she sat in the water at as it seemed a tad low to me so I will sort that out and now I have had the benefit of seeing other models .....as well as yours..... I can keep an eye out for some other issues that need addressing :o

Well hopefully now sorted out due to my error of posting on HMS Manxman wiring schematic thread ., and causing both myself and others confusion .....we will pick up the thread again Today I added some filler and paint to the recently added skeg to protect the rudder and props from damage , and will in time give the hull another coat of paint [ this being my first model it was done in enamel paints .....not Acrylic...... so will need to be mindful of that when repainting :eek:

I'm now following this thread with interest your Admiralship.:D;) Sandy.

Thanks for looking in Sandy , sorry its been so drawn out but although retired[ spelt retarded] there always seems to be something more pressing which takes priority . To date have opened up the hull and checked / refurbished the Rudder alignment and installation , and a skeg rudder to help protect the props / rudder which over the years has been damaged... removed both prop shafts , coated them in silicon grease , fitted new inner race shims , and refitted them in their shafts , Fitted new heavy duty flexidrive couplings and refitted the wooden engine mounts . Removed earlier bulkheads and fitted additional bulkheads to suit the new internal layout . Currently rewiring and resiteing the many electrical fittings , shoe horning as much as I can before fitting the new flush top deck . Will try to take some pics as its a nice day today to up date the flow of work

Looking forward to the pics Ivor. You are right it doesn't take much to slip onto the backburner - I have been doing it for 17 years with the RY ....... got all fired up just before Crimbo but a bout of flu stopped work and it is struggle time to get started again. But ............... February looks promising - especially if this wet weather persists. Dave H

Ok just managed to get these before the weather breaks , of progress so far? ....sorry for the quality , but having some teething problems with new software Hmm still having problems ........the files are all about _684jpg attachment image file size ....but won't upload for some reason ??????? Dave I'll Email ! to you to make sure its not my end mate .........MODERATOR HELP needed here me thinks ........Are you there TERRY PLEASE !

Dave see my Email please :(

Ivor, This one is from my library - testing upload only

OK heres the scuttlebutt , I have emailed my pics to Dave who has received them and then tried to put them back on with no joy . his last post is a larger size and it went on without a problem ....Gremlins me thinks Thanks for your help Dave but it looks like we will have to await the help of the Moderators .

well just tried some on Troubridge and Victorious ....both worked fine :D How Strange .....As the other two threads allowed me to resend two pics smaller I have just tried to resend three and ONE has come through :- Well not to waste time this one is off the revised skeg rudder which extends down past the keel and in so doing will protect the prop blades and rudder heel :D

Next one is of the exposed rudder housing after checking and cleaning up Well that worked well:mad: back to the drawing board

:o hmmm might be out of court on this one lads ....... Terry/Astraltrader has very kindly offered to post them on my behalf to help me out here . I have spent all afternoon checking where I am going wrong then the little light came on ;) Since the pictures taken of my other models which went up without a hitch today I have changed iPhones and had god knows how many updates from them and the smallest picture size just won't go up the pipe . so to prove this I will get my old trusty Fuji HS 28 and retake them to see if this is the case ......Sorry folks but technology has put the kibosh on Iphone/ Forum transfer :o

OK Ivor - your pictures were all well over 2mb which made them too large for uploading. Anyway my friend with a bit of re-jigging I have managed to sort them out for you. ;) I obviously leave it to you to provide any accompanying words.

Thank you Terry much obliged and sorry to trouble you Pic one is of the repaired rudder area pic two is of the replaced flexidrive shafts which is below the Electronic speed controller pic three is of the differential in batteries 12v/ 9 Ah = albs 11.1v 5000 mAh 12 onces pic four a general shot and one of new top deck .

Looks a lot clearer now Ivor. That starboard coupling could, only could, give a bit of vibration with the offset tween motor and shaft ...... they are pretty good but I have never experienced one that far offset. Just a thought because I appreciate the work involved in relocating the motor. The only other comment I would make [and I am not being an anorak] is that I have always found that going push/pull on the rudder control works wonders. But .. Grandma and Sucking Eggs comes to mind. ;) Dave H

The only other comment I would make [and I am not being an anorak] is that I have always found that going push/pull on the rudder control works wonders. But .. Grandma and Sucking Eggs comes to mind. ;) Dave H[/QUOTE] Concur fully with your views Dave. In my experience (limited) the propeller shafts should be in line with the motor shafts. Although the couplings allow for some degree of misalignment, they are not designed to compensate for that much Ivor. Having said that, the available space in a 1:96 scale hull is really limited in order to locate two electric motors of sufficient capacity to drive a model this size. And, if I remember correctly, the Deans instructions recommend cutting out the shaft recesses before positioning the motors. I think that the method should really be a combination of the two in order to achieve correct alignment. Even in a 1:72 scale destroyer hull I found it necessary to strap two 600 motors back to back at their brackets (via a central standpost) to get almost perfect alignment. See: [url]http://www.worldnavalships.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8014[/url] posts #6 and #13. Push pull steering is advisable on larger models, and in this instance, it's a "belt and braces" approach that will never let you down. "Keep right on to the end of the road" Ivor ........ Sir Harry Lauder said it all.;) Regards, Sandy.

Morning lads and thank you for your comments Ref the couplings I will admit to a tiny bit of vibration on the starboard coupling ,but the old one gave many years of trouble free service , although I would add that it is my first model boat ever built , and as Sandy pointed out I also agree with the comment about Dean alignment issues ......there again in his defence he warned me against doing such a complex kit as a first model , but once built kept calling me back to his exhibitions as he said I had made a good job of it :o But yes I take the point made on the chin . A little confused about the rudder control comment as it is push pull  Ok today as stated I took my "proper" camera out and retook the pictures so lets see if they upload ...... Well there you go . 1 Rudder installation [ overhauled] note the two bumps in the hull floor which are supports to the top of the propshaft "A" Frame fittings beneath 2 couplings with esc removed [note oiler loop on shafts on LHS of picture] 3 Electronic Speed controller in tray [type P94 Dual] with P92 indicator fuse board to RHS one 10amp per motor 4 Poor shoot of mains dist board [fitted to battery bay rear bulkhead] 5 Main battery bay .this will hold 2x 11.1 Lipo batteries fitted to fused parallel supply board connected to the Mains/Dist/Board The 24v dc converter for the supply to the Smoke generator The Spektrum RX and the forward Bulkhead to this bay. 6 This shows the Foggy Smoke generator bay which will vent through mid funnel note the gadget above which used to direct the smoke to all three funnels from 2 large "SEUTHE Dampf-erzeuger units which were VERY expensive to run @ £12 per 300ml ....the new one costs nothing but water to run 7 distance shot NOTE waterproof stain on my fence Dave "Autumn Gold":p The currently empty front section will have the Audio kit refitted with a 100mm speaker 15 amp mixer / booster and Destroyer whoop / ships Bell /Asdic , full running lights / nav lights and Aldis lamps fitted either side of the bridge again Now all I have to do is rebuild it all and repaint [ this being my first it was done in modellers enamel paint ] well it keeps me quite :p

Ivor, Push/Pull --- take the first picture above. Replace the single arm at the top of the rudder stem with a double arm. Then connect both ends [Port & Stbd] as you have the Stbd arm. Result Push/Pull. Dave H

Ok got you now thanks Dave , not seen that configuration before .....so something else I have learned . The system shown is certainly used by Deans and Cambs model boat club members which is where I picked it up . We also use Aircraft linkages to ensure that hey don't pop out of the servo links and the steel rudder post top point is welded to prevent detachment from shaft . The servo I use on the rudder is metal geared 10kg torque and has worked very well despite the dense weed and filament fishing line left in our clubs lake over the eight years I have been going there

Sound advice though Dave might try it on any future builds

Well this week has been one of those when you patience is tried to its fullest . was getting on well with the replacement new flush fitting top deck and cutting out the sections to fit the new coaming 's when it dawned on me that where I thought the new access would be ......does it align with the "Must get to" bits which will almost be sealed in when the new deck is fitted Strange comment you say  Well not really when you think in modelling terms as some items once fitted should need no access requirements unless they become defective which in this Pcb age and chip electronics is rare unless you wire up something the wrong way  So I decided to refit all the mechanics to make sure everything worked and was trimmed correctly ......:( And my second mistake was do that .... So some things needed to have the wire routing changed whilst others needed the fitting to be altered so as to not snag . As I have already said the battery bay although now smaller still needs to be able to gain access to take out and charge , and then thought about where the parallel coupling for the batteries would sit with its heat sink well away from cables and if it gets hot will it distort the plasticard fittings , will the steam overflow into the battery bay , do the Funnels align with the outlet from the steam generator , on and on and on :( I tell myself that this is only a challenge and there must be a solution to it , and after a cup of coffee and a biscuit it will all seem different ........well it aint :( Tried to fire everything up to cheer myself up , ............well the new bits work great ...........now if only I could get the original bits to work ......... I suspect the speed controller is the problem ....so i'll get it checked by Dave , and await his findings , sounds daft you say .............well if you look at the schematic it is quite possible as it controls the Audio output and the steam output .....and did I mention the engines and rudder ,,,,,,,,,, These high tech modules are great till they go wrong , but at least I can get the chips checked at very little cost and if anything is found wanting Dave used to deduct the service charge to off set the components cost and has always seen me right .........so off it will go and be back within a couple of days normally :)Still better to find out now and put it right rather than at the lakeside eh :o:o

Ivor, I really, really admire your candour mate.;) Not many would be as open and honest as you, especially Bodgitt and Bodgitt who bullsh*tted their way through a couple of refits.:D;) Try and take it all one step at a time my old mucker, enjoy the experience for what it is ........ a hobby, ........... nothing more ...... nothing less.;) And no matter what you think mate, you're doing the job to the standards that you have set yourself. And we, the readers and your "Groupies", are impressed with your efforts. Carry on Chief ........:) Sandy.

Thank you Sandy , you don't realise how much those few kind words can mean . Until the last ten years I was always being put down by those who I looked to for encouragement and support ,,,,,,,,but it was never forthcoming ....no matter what the task was . Since taking up modelling I have found great friends and that has made me feel worthy of being around , it matters not to me if they are merely platitudes , even that was better than being surrounded by nit pickers who thou unable to do what i did took delight in putting me down . I have now turned that corner and surrounded myself with kinder more appreciative people ,,,,,,and it has made the world of difference to my confidence in every aspect of life ........so again my thanks to you :o I will take your words of wisdom on board and endeavour to create a model worthy of kindness warm regards Ivor

Following on from yesterdays update I have contacted the powers to be and I am sending off the Electronic Speed Controller to have it checked out and some of the RX leads overhauled as when held at an angle by tie wraps and buffeted about in a model for a couple of years they can sometimes pull the leads out of the pins in the plugs .....so I'll get them checked out ......money well spent when you can spend weeks trying to track down a fault that effects lots of components . I had a nose around the internet today and found some decals I had been looking for and a few that are useful and give your model that finishing touch , like damage control indents , fire warning signs , general safety sign s ,hull markings, gauge and bezels , and just about every flag you can think of . Read and reread the binding instructions on my TX which for some reason does not want to bind up with the RX , so I'll give it another go then contact the suppliers for advice ......just in case I'm not doing it correctly . One thing I love is the help that some offer when approached , YES you could say that they are only looking for a sale but many I have spoken to have yet to gain a sale out of me but are always willing to help and give their advice F.O.C. :o If I can resolve the current issues I have I can get on with the conversion detail and get the model finished , but as all you modellers know only to well its the frustrating down time that gets to you ..........BUT once completed and mastered gives great satisfaction ..................its just the downtime :(

Heres a brief update on progress The issues with the ESC have been resolved now and as promised the turn around took four days from out ,post, check, repair ,return.......so will done Action Electronics :D The Receiver issue was a tad more tenuous as its a sealed box , bought in 2011 , and up to last use worked ok . I found a supplier offering them at a third on the original asking price ...so bought a spare and fitted it ........hey presto .......all singing and dancing again , so the suspicious defective RX looks to have been the culprit . connected everything together and tested it and it seems to be fine ,at very little outlay ..........always close to a modellers heart eh  If you look closely at the picture the Smoke generator is working fine at tick over and I striped down a on off switch with a battery charge display in it , beefed up the wiring to the switch and fitted it from the parallel power supply board to the mains distribution board and is seen on the top mid line of the hull resting at present as its not fitted in the deck yet as its yet to be fitted . This is not a luxury I normally pander to but not really have enough experience with lipo battery's yet and hear so many stories , you can't help feeling a tad anxious about them ........hence Two parallel supply batteries with enough supply ....now displayed on switch ........to at least warn you of low power supply . On Troubridge I have a Audible warning display which warns of high discharge [ low residual voltage ] in the batteries and to bring the boat in and turn them off / replace batteries , thereby preventing any nasty results . If you look mid line of the hull , the wiring hanging down with the RX and Satellite antenna......you will see that the constant light indicating a solid Bound between the TX and the RX has been made :D:D at last .......so all the R/C system seems to be singing from the same hymn sheet again . So back to work on the alterations now and squeezing this lot into a sleek looking fighting ship .......hopefully.:roll eyes: Great when a plan comes together eh Sandy .....albeit off the hoof so to speak

Looking Good Ivor ............ now onward and upwards with the easy bit  She looks a bit like any ship in mid refit period ....... wires, cables, equipment everywhere but like the full blown ships all comes together at the end. Well done mate. Came across a great photo of Sandy's "Rodney to Renown" conversion yesterday and if he permits I will post it on here for you as a boost to your already regained confidence. Dave H

Thanks Dave .....and by all means .......he is after all a hero to us both eh mate ;) Yes it is progress at least , now its the job of transferring the pictures held in my mind to the creation of that in to a tangible result which hopefully passes for a resemblance of this much under rated class of ship that did all the defensive mislaying so quickly whilst in the early stages of the war , then did sterling work acting as express carriers of urgently needed Men and materials in the teeth of the enemy . Cant wait to get her cutting a deep bow wave through the water with a nice plum of smoke coming out her funnels again ;)

Hopefully better than her last cruise ,

[QUOTE=Dave Hutson;10106250]................Came across a great photo of Sandy's "Rodney to Renown" conversion yesterday and if he permits I will post it on here for you as a boost to your already regained confidence. Dave H[/QUOTE] Permission granted Dave ...... with pleasure and by all means.;) One little correction however, it was from "BARHAM TO RENOWN" if I remember in my dotage mate.:o Irrespective, I'm flattered that you should use one of my images as an example. (Unless of course it explains "how not to .............. like painting a fence").:D:o Keep up the good work Ivor, I admire your tenacity. With the constant rain for nearly eight weeks now, we won't need the facilities that a lake/pond provides, "just float-yer-boat-in-yer-garden".:D:D Regards, Young Bodgitt.

Velly Solly Sandy Chief ........... must do better. Now if I can remember where I got it filed will get it on. This Ivor geezer is getting thru' cos' I have been looking at the RY a lot and giving myself demerits. But no matter - with this diabolical weather can't get out to the garage anywotsit. Press on Ivor ..... we are watching you , not for cockups but for successful progress. ;) Dave H

Ivor ...... permission from the Maestro [aka Old Ch Stoker] received so yer tiz my ansome. Dave H

Seeing the Chief's work is indeed an inspiration and a reminder of the end product rewards . Weymouth looks great for boating , if a tad Draughty on days , but nothing a Brit can't handle :roll eyes: Our Club lake is a good size but just like you a breeding ground for those who don't keep a watchful eye open for the brain dead who choses to pull a handbrake turn in front of you when you least expect it , and then screams when his model is sent to the deep six .[ at which point we all remove our caps and salute ....and try not to snigger ....as the dream of their modelling prowess releases its ballast and slides beneath the murky waters in a pool of bubbles ..... What kind of depth is it there , ours is only 5m deep but ink Black and impossible to see in , I know as I was asked to find a sailing boat that went down one morning , and despite two hour long dives was never seen again  , so we tend to take the view that if sunk , thats the last you see of it sadly . Recovery on the surface is possible ,....by various methods employed in the past but , but tends to hone your safety checks a lot before you wander to far :( We some times get a large crowd ,[ being a hotel] but that to can be a trial as with it comes all the know alls and ex Admirals who correct your every utterance .....but teaching you to suck eggs here no doubt ....... How ever a great bunch of friendly souls eager to help in anyway they can , and always up for a leg pull .....all well intended , and if you have had a lottery win .....a beautiful warm hotel bar to drink hot drinks and GOLD leaf cakes fresh from the mint  still back to building again now eh

GM Ivor , Another week has passed in our winter refit calendar so any further progress on Manxman. Your set me on a guilt trip looking at my fleet sitting in the garage so I started the refurb on all boats [6] to have them ready for the Spring/Summer should they ever put in an appearance. These are the pictures of the scratchbuilt "Bold Pioneer" now ready for the water again. She is sitting alongside the "RY" which has been on the backburner for more years than I will admit to but she has made the trip to Spain and back three times with very little progress. But with the inspiration reflected from Sandy and yourself I will now make the effort to progress to completion [Friday Sandy but never said what Friday or Year]. Next refurb - RORO Car Ferry. Dave H

Christ Dave what were you before.................. a Surgeon? Never seen such a clean work station , I can see know why it takes so long ....your always cleaning up .......no wonder Lady K likes you:mad: Yes progressing nicely thanks Dave , [ but not going to show you my workshop :p] I have now resolved all the afore going problems I mentioned with ESC problems and Audio performance of re-sited units in hull and RX problems so feeling as if I am getting some where at last , but thanks for asking mate The endless hours of re wiring all the audio switching units [ five I seem to recall ] and now thats done can start back at my favourite bit ....building . The upper deck profile has been shaped to fit snugly , and all the new coaming's are competed and the raised mid section has been remade and the 2nd and 3rd funnel fitted to it . I have had to increase airflow to the speed controller activated fan fitted on the Foggi unit as when tested there was insufficient air flow and when you went full ahead the flow of smoke out of the funnel was pathetic . It has been a very tight squeeze to get every thing in place and even now if a major fault develops the new deck will have to be cut off again [ copies already made and stored .....just in case ] .....but knew that from the offset .......but if you want your model to look and sound realistic .....thats the price you pay for using 1/96 scale I'm afraid ..........I know Sandy but 1/75 scale would not match my other treasured models , and when there in the water side by side they look brilliant .......well to me anyway ......... I do have enough access to get the batteries in and out and access to the Foggi unit and the "8" fuses involved in the set up.....1x 25 , 2x15, 4x10 ,1x 5amp in values so hope to be able to fix the new top deck in place in about two weeks all being well . I know that I am daft , and often told so by other modellers , but I like my models to look as well as sound good , and the smoke adds that cherry on the top for me and the others that quickly form up astern of me when I am on the lake , and a young modeller who has a very good submarine of no set Navy loves to dart around beneath my hull much to everyones amusement .......whilst I try to remember where he is so I don't ram him and incur his displeasure .......its like a convoy run at times :)......................I haven't the heart to tell him that my departed uncle was a stoker on a Corvette that rammed two subs , the last one resulted in it being beached and uneconomical to repair [HMS PUFFIN]:D:D Then the unavoidable repaint and tarting up of the original model to make it look reasonable again :o

Most of the time Ivor my workstation looks like something out a horror movie but today it was after a cleanup and thought session on next task. I know what you are saying about authenticity but in the case of "Bold Pioneer" I was lucky in that they were experimental platforms for just about everything, weapons, propulsion etc. Thus I was able to incorporate any mix of her roles = even though constructed with a flat bottom which made her an easy build she goes very well on the water and looks the business = including her bowwave which I did not think would be achieved without a shaped hull. Many a U Boat and even our own lost their eyes when sailing too close to the wind so your unterzeebooten friend should veer off a tad:):):);)

Most of my modelling at present is done surreptitiously in the kitchen after CiC has slipped her mooring and gone to beat up students who dared to dirty their berths at work :eek: With the hound guarding the door to let me know when she has got off the bus and walking up the street  At an age now when standing hunched over a model for hours on end has passed .......so like our Master and long term Friend ...the "elderly chief " who is contemplating early retirement from his dock yard ...........I do a lot of brewing and blood checks to make sure I am in a fit state to carry on . [ well most of the time ] I can thoroughly recommend you buy your CinC an iPad with all those "Candy Crushers" down loaded on them as it keeps her out of my dockyard for hours on end with only the occasional heavy swearing and blaspheming arising from her when she runs out of lives ....or can't beat the current level she is on :D:D OUCH:eek:......that hurt ! How do you get on with the small crimp pins on RC gear plugs that need repair / replacement ? Wish I knew where to get a crimp tool from as those bloody things are guaranteed to turn the air blue with my" sides of beef" on tiny little things like that .

Hakuna Matata Rafiki [No problem friend] - my main PC is in my office [the third Bedroom as was] which also doubles as my Indoor Workshop, the Memsahib enjoys many hours there with online puzzles and games, which is an embuggerance factor when I want to work on the boats. The alternative is that I disappear to the Garage if it is warm enough but I prefer the Office, hence the reason why progress gets slow. Don't do fiddely pins ....... if I can't straighten them or a lead parts it's the bin. But generally I am lucky as I am blessed, despite all the health problems, to have an average sized hands and very steady thusfar. Started work on two repair/refurbishments this afternoon so must make sure I don't get too bogged down or backburner syndrome will kick in again.

Thanks Dave , know what you mean .....I have had a lot of office work and now customers work to work on so been unable to get to grips of late . In case you all think I have not been busy when time permits I'm rapidly getting to the point where the new rear main deck can be positioned ....thank god ...... As I said earlier on the slim hull and little extras going aboard have led to extremely cramped fittings so now it will be a case of shoe horning all the kit in place and glueing the newer rear main deck on and living with the risk of a defect But before I reach that point I will need to assemble a temp" trough "in the garden to sit the hull in and make sure she is stable enough and don't turn turtle . The original was ok but with all the moving of bulkheads and resiteing of the battery bay and the installation of the" Smokey " unit I want to at least test it before the point of no return is reached  Nice to see the new faces joining the modelling section ....but not heard if Missy bought her GS that model yet ....:roll eyes: I have finally installed the main cut off switch in the front audio bay beneath the forward superstructure , although the Mains distribution board is halfway down the hull as its the only place I could find enough room to house it .....other than where the Smokey is which from trials would be subject to condensate .....which runs the risk of shorting  This switch has the benefit of reading out the total power available from the two parallel installed 11.3v lipo batteries so that will help in keeping an eye on the discharge rate for me and be able to switch off quite quickly without it being visible Was talking to a modeller today who fits his inside latex balloons to deter the entry of water and the subsequent risk of explosion .....which made me start looking at other latex products .......:roll eyes:.....I'll let you know how I get on

Re post # 35..........STUNNING huge model of the Nelson? Rodney? Guess I should know based on camo, but alas failing memory....... How long is that model? Really nice! How many years of work? DFO :D

DFO, with Ivor's permission I can answer your questions.:o The model is of HMS RODNEY based on her configuration October 1942. She is 1:72 scale and measures just short of ten feet. The hull is in two parts for ease of transport and she is powered by 2 12V automobile blower motors. Ivor and Dave H have kindly posted these images of her at Weymouth and Norwich in the past five years. For more information on the rebuild please go to: [url]http://www.worldnavalships.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8192[/url] Thanks for your kind comment and thanks also to Ivor for letting a battleship invade his thread about very fast minelayers.:D Keep up the excellent work Ivor (and Dave H) and thanks for your most valued support.;) Sandy. (Destroyerman).

Dave, reference your post #37 and image of BRITANNIA and BOLD PIONEER, the framed prose in the background of image #1 seems familiar. That wouldn't be the "Stokers Lament" would it?? Kind regards, Sandy.

My dear friend Sandy , always glad to help your venerable self and others as best I can .:D Dave mate I have found another supplier of 1/96 crew at the following :-mteam@modellingtimbers.co.uk who a club member put me onto .and they include female figures as well so perhaps a couple waving on the side for the Royal Yacht took some pics yesterday but they are to far away to be of any use ...so will take more with the proper camera instead of the iPhone :o

This will give you a better idea of space limitation in a greyhound hull like Manxman 1/ view of original superstructure above 2/ ditto slightly different angle also with new main deck prior to fixing 3/ opposite end . Once secured I will go about the repaint tasks , but final check of all circuits . Cant wire up original Aldiss lights as I have no where left to fit the relay switch box in :(
