HMS Mermaid Laid Down : Launched : 29th December 1966 Completed : 16th May 1973 Type : Frigate Class : Builder : Yarrow Country : UK Pennants : F76 Fate : Originally ordered for Ghana as the Black Star. The order was cancelled and the ship was eventually fitted out to Royal Navy standard and commissioned in 1973. Sold to Malaysian Navy as KD Hang Tuah in April 1977 Later became : Hang Tuah |
