Class :
Audacious Builder : Country : UK Ship Type : Aircraft Carrier Pennants : R09, R05 Profile : Only two of this class survived, the survivors being renamed Eagle and Ark Royal. The other two in the class were cancelled. Although work on these two ships started in 1942 and 1943, build was suspended and they were eventually completed in 1951 and 1955. Post-war, because of their re-naming, the class were generally referred to as the Eagle Class. |
