No.657 Sqn RAF Country : UK Founded : 31st January 1955 Fate : Disbanded 1st November 1955 Per terra sperque caelum - By land and sky Click the name above to see prints featuring aircraft of No.657 Sqn RAF	No.657 Sqn RAF Based at RAF Odiham, 657 Squadron, a sub unit of 9 Regiment of the Army Air Corps, and form part of the JSFAW (Joint Special Forces Aviaiton Wing) which also includes 7 Squadron RAF. In the late 1990s 657 Squadron were developed for special forces support role. 657 Sqn operate the Lynx AH7 helicopters in support of UKSF. The Lynx is a dual role attack/utility helicopter also operated by the Commando Helicopter Force The squadrons motto is Per Terras Perque Caelum (By Land and Sky). Since 2001 657 Squadorn has been used with UKSF and has been active a lot both Afghanistan and Iraq, it is almost certain that 657 Squadron have been supporting SAS and SBS operations in both areas of operations.
