COURBET..  Part of the 1910 navy programme, on her trials she exceeded her designed speed doing 22 knots.  Built by Arsenal de Brest and launched 23rd September 1911 and completed 19th November 1913. at the outbreak of World war One along with her three sister ships , Courbet went to the Mediterranean, becoming Flagship to Vice-Admiral Boue de Lapeyrere.   After World War one this class of ship became obsolete, and were not refitted, (their was not a large enough Dry dock.).  She did however get a upgraded fire control,  and new boiler, (which were the boilers intended for the new Normandie class Battleships) fitted.  Along with her sister ship Paris,  which were being used as training ships. were taken over by the Royal navy while in British Ports. and used as AA guardship. and then transferred to the FNFL. Finally she was expended as part of the Normandie breakwater on the 9th June 1944.

Construit par l'Arsenal du plus Britannique et lancé 23e le 1911 septembre et complété dix-neuvième le 1913 novembre. à l'éruption de guerre de Monde l'Un avec son trois bateaux de soeur, Courbet est allé à la méditerranée, devenant Phare à Boue de Vice-Amiral de Lapeyrere. Après la Guerre de Monde l'un cette classe de bateau est devenue desuète, et n'ont pas été remis en état, (leur n'était pas un assez grand bassin Sec.). Elle a fait cependant obtient un contrôle amélioré de feu, et la nouvelle chaudière, (qui étaient les chaudières voulues pour les nouveaux Cuirassés de classe de Normandie) a ajusté. Avec son Paris de bateau de soeur, qui étaient utilisé comme entraînant des bateaux. ont été repris par la marine Royale pendant que dans les Ports britanniques. et a utilisé comme AA guardship. et alors transféré au FNFL. Finalement elle a été dépensée comme la partie du brise-lames de Normandie sur le neuvième le 1944 juin.

Displacement: 22189 tons to 23,500 tons, normal  and a full load weight of 25,850 to 26,000 tons,  Speed: 20knots, (22 knots + during trials  )

  Range: 4,200 nautical miles at 10 knots,  or 1140 nautical miles at full speed (20 knots).  Compliment: 1085 to 1100.   Armament: Twelve  305mm (12-inch) main guns in pairs, Twenty two 138.6mm (5.4-inch) guns and Four 47mm. guns plus Four 450mm (17.7-inch) torpedo tubes  submerged.  They carried 100 305mm Shells for each gun,  and 275 shells for each of the secondary guns, Twelve Torpedoes and originally 30 mines.
