German navy. Many of the photos we receive have little or no
information about them and some of the German photographs are placed here in the hope that some
of our visitors can help to identify them. Many photographs have
already come and gone from this page having been positively identified,

Former K.U.K. River Patrol Boat "K". After
1st March 1916 "Csuka", after 24th July 1929 "Birago".
The ship was commissioned in 1916, and saw action on every battle on the
Danube, and later on the Black Sea. In 1919 she fought against the
Tschechs. after World War I, Hungary received the ship (renamed
Siofok). In 1929 Hungary exchanged her with the patrol boat "Barsch".
After this, she served with the Austrian Navy. She was broken up
at the end of 1939. Displacement 80t. Crew 27.
Armament 1 x 7cm L/26, 2 x 8mm MG. You can identify
the ship from the coning tower. Only 2 ships were built with such
towers, and the other was at the time of the Anschluss

German Tender (converted minesweeper). Either
Hele (ex - M135), Wacht (ex - M133), Delphin (ex - M108), Frauenlob (ex
- M134) or Jagd (ex - M82).
Displacement 525tons (Jagd 500 tons), 184ft length,

Minesweeper M53, pre WW1.
After the war she was sold to Argentina, renamed M4,

Fishery protection vessel either Elbe or Weser,
Built in 1931, displacement 820 tons, length 58m. HP 1600 Speed: 15
Knots. armament One 88mm gun, Crew 67, Elbe was allocated to
Russia in 1945, and Weser was scrapped in 1954. (text

Text on Card - "Die Kaiserin besichtigt die
zerschossenen schiffe nach der Skagerrakschlacht"
or "The Empress visits the shot-up ships after
the Skagerrakschlacht (Battle of Jutland)"
The Kaiser and several princes visited the high seas
fleet on board the flagship Friedrich der Gross on 5th June 1916 at
Wilhelmshaven.
