Bremen of the Bremen Class
German Light Cruisers. Her sister ships were, SMS Hamburg, Berlin,
Lubeck, Munchen, Leipzig, and SMS Danzig.
SMS Bremen was built at
A G Weser at Bremen, and laid down in 1902, launched 9th July 1903 and completed
19th May 1904. S.M.S Bremen served over overseas foreign service between
1904 and 1914 and went into major refit in 1914-1915. at Wilhelmshaven
Dockyard. which included being re armed with Two 5.9 inch guns and size
4,.1 inch guns. On the 17th December 1915 near the Spon bank in the Baltic
sunk by two mines at 1804. (along with V191) with the loss of 250 killed.
Displacement: 3,250
tons, Speed: 23 knots. (Coal Fired) Crew 303. Armament:
Ten 4.1 inch Guns, two 18 inch Torpedo Tubes (Submerged)
Armament increased in 1914. as above.
