Redoutable Class French Submarines. Photographs and history of the French submarines of the Redoutable Class launched 1928 - 1937. This class includes Redoutable, Vengeur, Archimede, Fresnel, Henri Poincare, Monge, Pascal, Pasteur, Poncelet, Achille, Ajax, Acteon, Acheron, Argo, Protee, Pegase, Persee, Phenix, Promethee, Espoire, Glorieux, Centaure, Heros, Conquerant, Tonnant, Agosta, Sfax, Casabianca, Beveziers, Ouessant, Sidi Ferruch. Displacement: 1384 tons, and 1570 tons when submerged. Speed 17 knots on the surface and 10 Knots submerged. Crew 61 Armament: One 3.9 inch gun, two 13.2 mm AA guns, Nine 21.7 inch torpedo Tubes, and tow 15.7 Torpedo Tubes |
