United States Navy patrol ships and patrol gunboats from HMS Dolphin patrol gunboat and the Eagle boat patrol ship to the Temptress class river gunboat. These patrol boat classes include Yorktown patrol boats, Petrel patrol gunboats, USS Bancroft, Nachias, Wilmington, Annapolis, Wheeling, USS Topeka, USS Isla De Luzon, the Eagle boat patrol vessel and patrol ships of World War Two.

The Eagle patrol vessels PE1 to PE60. Twelve of these vessels were intended to be transferred to Italy but were all eventually used by the US Navy and in 1919 PE16, PE20, PE21, PE22, PE30 were transferred to the coastguard.  PE1 was commissioned on the 28th October 1918.  These ships were built on the Great Lakes or on the inland rivers and the contract was given to Henry Ford who built a factory at Highland Park, Detroit.  Initially 112 ships were ordered, but only 60 were built.  Displacement 500 tons, Speed 18.3 knots. Range 3500 nautical miles at 10 knots.  Complement 61. Armament 2 x 4in guns, 1 x 3in gun and 1 Y gun

USS Wilmington a patrol gunboat launched on 19th October 1895. She survived until being sold in 1946.

Ex- Spanish gunboat Elcano.

Taken over in the Philippine Islands as a result of the Spanish American War.  Launched 1885.  Commissioned into American Navy 20th November 1902.  Used as target in 1928.

ORIGINAL POSTCARD FOR SALE.  DONATED TOWARDS THE UPKEEP OF THIS SITE.

Submarine Chaser PC451.  Built by Defoe, Bay City.  Was one of two under the 1938 experimental program, PC451 was diesel powered and was built to replace the ageing Eagle boats of World War One.  Speed : 19 kts.  Range 4800, Complement 59, Armament one 3in gun, two mousetrap, two depth charge projectors and two depth charge racks.

USS Eagle, an armed yacht launched in 1890.  It was commissioned in 1898 and later sold in 1920.
