Kaiser Friedrich III   

Kaiser Freidrich III  Built at Wilhelmshaven and launched 31st July 1896, completed and commissioned 7th October 1898. After 1910 became part of the 3rd squadron of the High seas fleet along with all her sister ships In 1916 became a barrack Ship for prisoners at Keil. and in moving in 1917 to Flensburg, anbd again to Swinemunde. Stricken on the 6th December 1919.   Broken up 1920 at Keil-Nordmol. Kaiser Freidrich III, Bow ornament is in the army museum at Dresden. 

Length: 377 ft.   Beam: 66 ft.   Draught: 25 ft 9 ins.   Armament: 9.4 in breech-loaders, 5.9in quick firers, 3.4 in quick firers and 1 pdr revolving guns as well as six torpedo tubes. Compliment 713 (as flagship)  Speed. 17 knots   Displacement 11,599 tons

Kaiser Friedrich III The Flagship with Prince Henry on Board During 1902.

After being taken off active duties Kaiser Friedrich served as a prison ship along with sister ships Kaiser Karl der Grosse and Kaiser Barbarossa.

German battleship Kaiser Friedrich III in 1902 after her cruise round Ireland when she was the flagship of Prince Henry's squadron. Built at Wilhelmshaven and launched in 1896, she displaced 11,130 tons and had a speed of 18 knots. She was heavily armoured with fifty guns plus torpedo tubes and had a complement of 655.
