SMS Kaiser
German battleship of the Kaiser Class
battleships of the German Navy. SMS Kaiser was built
at the imperial Dockyard at Keil. laid down in September 1909.
launched on the 22nd March 1911 and commissioned into the
German navy on the 1st august 1912. These were the first German
battleships with super imposed turrets and turbines.
Participated in the First major overseas of a detached division
to South America and south Africa between 1913 and 1914.
Fought at the Battle of Jutland
receiving direct hits and
sustaining damage which was repaired in August 1916.
Interned at Scapa Flow 25th November 1918 and scuttled at 1325
on 21 June 1919 and sank. Raised 20th march 1929 and scrapped at
Rosyth in 1930.
