I'm looking for any old soldier (or his relative) that during WWII was enforced on  HMS Liddesdale and worked to the recovery of the 39 German minisom Molch class in Sistian Bay (Adriatic Sea - Gulf of Trieste). ELLIS PRICE.. My brother Ellis was Yeoman of Signals on HMS Tynedale when she was attacked and sunk by U593. My brother went down with the ship. I would be pleased to hear from any survivors who might remember Ellis or who might fill in the gaps about the action. Please contact i.raymond@virgin.net 

I am seeking information on the events surrounding the sinking of HMS Tynedale in the Med in 1943. In particular, about the promotion of leading seaman E F Field to P/O on active service. I know he was promoted to P/O, however, the war memorial in Plymouth has him listed as Leading Seaman. I would wish to put this right but need evidence of his promotion. I am a survivor of HMS Quorn. My name is Norman Ackroyd and I joined the ship at Harwich in September 1943. For several months I was Boun's mate but then I was appointed Captain's writer and was in the ships office until she was sunk by a human torpedo off Le Havre on 3rd August 1944 whilst acting as part of the beachhead defence force. My action station was as part of number 3 gun crew. Whilst I do not remember the names below I will give what information I can if contacted. normanackroyd@steeton.fsworld.co.uk

HMS SOUTHDOWN

TIMOTHY CHARLES FANSHAWE.. I am looking for information about the career of the Southdown skipper Timothy Charles Fanshawe.  He left the Southdown and later died of leukemia, but my grandfather who sailed on the ship traced his son, who promised to send details of Fanshawe's post-Southdown career.  These details never arrived.  Does anyone have any information about Mr Fanshawe?  Contact Here 

HMS EXMOOR

I'm looking for any information about HMS Exmoor (sunk off Lowestoft February 1941) and the convoy (FN417) that it was accompanying. I know the Exmoor was hit by a single torpedo from the german torpedo boat S-30 and sank fairly quickly. My uncle Leading Seaman Norman PRITT C/JX 141279 was one of the crew who died. ..  ALBERT (JACK) HULBERT.. we know he was on HMS Garth for sometime during WWII on convoy duty.  Although the ship survived the war, it saw action.  During one attack on the ship, his best friend died in his arms from his injuries.  My father name was Albert (Jack) Hulbert who was a true Scouser, he sadly passed away in 1999.   We would love to hear from anyone who knew my Dad or of any duty or action the ship was involved in.  Please contact Donna Lyell at donna@lyell36.freeserve.co.uk

HMS BERKELEY

.. My Mother In Law lost her brother, Able Seaman Ronnie Taylor in the Dieppe Raid - April 1942.  I think this was called Operation Jubilee.  Ronnie was serving on the HMS Berkeley but we can't find any information about what actually happened to him, all we know is that he lost his life, either on board the ship when it was sunk - or perhaps he made it to a landing craft and was killed trying to get on the beach.
