MESSAGES
JOHN VERLANDER... My name is John Verlander. I live in London,
these pictures (see above) were taken in Baracca Gardens, Malta. I
am on the far left of each picture, we were all part of the crew of HMS
Ocean an aircraft carrier, they were taken between November 1945 and June
1946 on one of our ports of call during WW2. I believe the sailor on the
far right of the group, and left of myself in the other picture's surname
was Marriott or something similar. I would very much like to have contact
with anyone on the pictures or news of where they are now, in the hope we
can re-live old times. marionverlander@hotmail.com
KEN ELLIS.. Would be interested to know if
anyone remembers Ken Ellis. who died recently. His sister is trying to
find out what job he did and what rank he was. If you can help contact me
at barney191@lineone.net
ARTHUR PARTINGTON...My father served on HMS
Ocean in the 1940s. I would like to hear from anyone who knew him, we are
hoping to put together a special present for his 75th birthday. If you
have if you have pictures of the bridge or description, I would be
grateful to see them. Contact me at partington@web.de
DESMOND HEMINGWAY. I would be interested
to know if anyone remembers Desmond Hemingway a crew member of HMS Ocean
during the 1940's. He was my step-mothers brother and unfortunately died
in the late sixties. His daughter lives near by and it would be nice to
let her know if there was someone who remembers him. contact Heather
Northern at H.E.Northerne@btopenworld.com |
