HMS Gallant  H.59 26th September 1935 60 crew members were lost 10th January 1941 when HMS Gallant struck a mine during the Malta Coonvoys.  Constructive loss 5th April 1942.

HMS Gipsy  H.63 7th November 1935 Sunk on 21st November 1939.
HMS Glowworm  H.92 22nd July 1935 Sunk on 8th April 1940.
HMS Grafton  H.89 18th September 1935 Sunk on 29th May 1940.
HMS Grenade  H.86 12th November 1935 Sunk on 29th May 1940.
HMS Grenville  15th August 1935 Sunk on 19th January 1940.
HMS Greyhound  H.05 15th August 1935 Sunk on 22nd May 1941.
HMS Griffin  H.31 15th August 1935 Broken up 1946.
HMS Hardy   H.87 7th April 1936 Sunk on 10th April 1940.
HMS Hasty  H.24 5th May 1936 Sunk 15th June 1942.
HMS Havock  H.43 7th July 1936 Wrecked 6th April 1942.
HMS Hereward   H.93 10th March 1936 Sunk on 29th May 1941.
HMS Hero  H.99 10th March 1936 Broken up 1946.

HMS Gallant

60 crew members were lost 10th January 1941 when HMS Gallant struck a mine during the Malta Coonvoys.  Constructive loss 5th April 1942.

HMS Hotspur

The H class destroyer, was built by Scotts,at Greenock  and launched  23rd March 1936. participated in the First battle of Narvik April 1940 and the battle of cape Matapan in march 1941, in April 1941 took part in the Evacuation of Greece. and sank the German U-Boat U79 in the Mediterranean north of Sollum ion 23rd December 1941  sold to the Dominican republic on 23red November 1948 and renamed Trujillo

HMS Hotspur is shown on Convoy protection duties during 1942 / 1943. HMS Hotspur, the H class destroyer, was built by Scotts at Greenock and launched 23rd March 1936. Specifications for HMS Grenville & HMS Hardy.

 

Displacement: Grenville = 1,485 tons, HMS Hardy = 1,505 tons.   Speed: 36kts    Complement: 175

Armament: Five 4.7 inch guns, eight 0.5 inch anti-aircraft guns in fours and eight 21 inch torpedo tubes in fours.

 

HMS Grenville.  Built at Yarrow's and launched 15th August 1935. Lost in the Thames estuary after being mined. 19th January 1940.  (In fact her position at 5139N:0217E is well out of the Thames, quite close to the Dutch coast and some 23 miles east of the old Kentish Knock Light Vessel). Info supplied by Richard Goring.

HMS Hardy.  Built by Cammell Laird and launched 7th April 1936. Lost in action at narvik while in action against  German destroyers. 10th April 1944
