Hi, I joined this site today as I was searching for my fathers records. I have since been onto National Archives and have found a link for £3-5 0. I knew my father had been torpedoed one new years day during the first world war and found HMS FORMIDABLE was sunk on 1st JAN 1915 killing547 with 233 survivers. The site Naval History gave a crew list listing suvivers and that gave me my fathers official number.I served 22years in the RN and when my father died I arranged for his ashes to be scattered at sea through the missions of seaman padre at South Shields. I am very pleased to have found this site

Hi Spot and welcome.
It is always great when someone feeds back success. Now you are in look forward to your posts --- there are some great guys on here [and gals] and I rate the best history channel going. You ask a question and back comes a flood of answers or advice. Makes "Once Navy Always Navy" ring true. Dave H |
