Thanks Rik, Tomorrow's one is I think the best yet.

I've done the cartoon a/c for years, infact I used to do a small one at the bottom left corner of the envelopes when I wrote home to my wife, and that was eary 60's

It was only the other day I thought of doing it with ships and I'm really enjoying it.The first one of MYTON was a disaster, I drew it out in pencil ,then went over it with fibre tip pen .03,I then Lolopped water on it to put on a blue wash for the sky, only to find I had picked up the wrong pen, it was'nt waterproof!,what a mess, back to square one.

These ones are all off the same pad 12"x9", I'm thinking , a Destroyer next, and who knows IJS YAMATO complete with crew, you never know.

regards

I Like this one the best so far.
On a more serious note, I think the men who went to war in ships like these were something else.

These are so good Jim ....I hope you don't mind but I will be Framing the last two You sent me as they say so much about you...no.. our sense of humour !

Here is a mature man with what seems to me to be endless talent ......with a little prankster...... trying to get out ..More power to your elbow shipmate..... If we had served together we would no doubt have been shot at dawn for "Actions unbecoming of her majesties Navy"

Kind Regards Ivor

Thanks cylla, When I was looking through my ref stuff I found a photo of LLANDAFF. I had a mate serving in her, and remember visiting him, (at Tot time of course) I was in the Ark at the time but I cant remember where we were.
I have been thinking of doing a series of post War frigates/destroyers along the lines of the picture of AISNE, posted earlier (regular pics that is, not cartoons) although I will do more of them.

Ivor ,the fleet LIMBO championships are the ravings of a senile mind, weened on the GOON SHOW, and Olaf the Gangbanger ( a cartoon character in a magazine which as a happily married man I should not have been exposed to) Ergo a total figment of my imagination.

Great minds often think alike my friend .....its just that whilst sitting here and knowing that being near dinner time I might be low on sugar it suddenly occurred to me that I may be laughing at the wrong thing and missing a joke that had bypassed me through ignorance on my part.........

Love the details ...and honoured guests .....thought it was Admiral Spewforth Spitstraight for a minute, until I reread the list again

Well done and great work

Kind regards Ivor

Ivor, Admiral Spitstraight was originally.booked to do this prestegious task, how ever the Admirals ADC called to say that the Admiral would be unable to fullfil his comitment due to being indisposed with an embarasing personal medical condition.

It is to" Sir's" everlasting credit that he stepped in to up hold the RN's part in the occasion.

The Admiral also wished it to be known that the scurelous rumours in 'The Gutter Press ' about Dame Euphrosney and himself, were completely untrue.

Tell me the Skuttle butt on the Admirals medical condition ....as far as I was aware he was just over zealous with the issue of his Tot ..or was that Totty ?

Well Ivor, I'm sure as an ex Leading airman AH2, I am the last person to comment on the goings on of the upper achelons but it has been rumoured that the clue might be in the letters following Ma'ams name, and that the person concerned had been spotted at the sick bay sipping from a small medical measure.

ps, scuttlebut is USN buzz is RN
