Another first class set. I particularly like the one of ships up the trot , you have captured the forlorn atmosphere exactly.

Perhaps one of the Moderators will move these to a thread where more members will see them.

Gerry

Jim, I too would like to congratulate you on the quality of your pictures, they are indeed very good.
Gerry has suggested they be moved to another thread, I would like to suggest that they have a thread all of their own where you can add to them if and when you complete others.
I could make the thread myself but will await Terry's intervention as he will know the best route to take.
Well done!

Regards, Bob.

Glad to see you like the pics Gerry, it makes a change to show them to people who are into ships.I've hawked some around some galleries in Fife, but they only seem to want Fishing Villages or the type of pictures where you prop up your canvas and fire off broadsides of paint at it.
The ships on the trots are the Reserve Fleet at Pompey(I did my cox'ns ticket there and became Captain's Cox'n in VICTORIOUS 1966 I think it was).I got to swan around the Far East in a Fairey Huntress, those were the days.
I seem to be having a problem uploading so I'll just post this for the time being.

Jim these are truly excellent paintings that have won the admiration of many of the forums members as well as myself.

In order to bring them to more of our members attention, I really had two choices. Either to put them into an existing thread that we already have running called "Warship Art", or to put them into a thread of their own.

After serious thought I have put them into a thread of their own, where you will be able to add any more that you may choose.

I thought Jims Ship Paintings was as good a title as anything!

I hope all this meets with your approval and thank you for bringing them to the forum for all our members to appreciate and enjoy!

The last batch of pictures I see you have had to dramatically reduce in order to get them to upload. This is partly because the forum had introduced a maximum size cap of 1500 wide.

As this new capping has thrown up a few problems, the Forums Administrator Kc has kindly lifted this for a while - so perhaps you could see fit to reposting them at their original size for us to see? They should now go through at their original size without any problem!

Hi every body, here are some more uploads.I will have to spend some time taking more photos, these ones I had on my computer as a record, thats why they wern't cropped or any thing.
The picture of the two Gannets, I call The Bass(the island) the May(the name of the ship, named after the May island) and thousands of Gannets.
The picture of the Norseman, was going to be my christmas card a couple of years ago,but I used an other one of Thames Barges instead.

Hi Vivian, nice to know you like the paintings. Usualy the only people who see them are family and friends I really paint them because I have always loved ships and aircraft , hence I was in the Fleet Air Arm.I do manage to sell the occasional picture but it is really a niche market. My wife is forever saying "why dont you paint other things" and I some times do but I always end up back with ships.By the way my wife does creative embroidery, which she does better than I paint.
Anyway thanks again for the complements and here are some more to look at.
