This is an extract from the ships log of the Ton Class minehunter HMS MAXTON after the disbanding of the 6th MCM Dragon Squadron at Hong Kong in October 1971 when HM Ships MAXTON, BOSSINGTON and HUBBERSTON left Hong Kong en-route for the UK, Picking up BRERETON, BRINTON and GAVINGTON ( Who were on their way home from the Gulf ) along the way a total of 73 days on passage.I think you'll agree an epic voyage for such little ships.

30/11 Whilst on passage BOSSINGTON went to the assistance of HMS ZULU off the mouth of the River Gambia
Took ZULU in tow to Dakar.
01/12 Arrived at Dakar (Day 62 of passage)
02/12 Departed Dakar for Gibraltar in company of HUBBERSTON At 12:50 HUBBERSTON reported hitting a
Submerged object no damage sustained.
06/12 Arrived at Gibraltar (Day 67 of passage )
09/12 Departed Gibraltar for Plymouth

12/12 Arrived at Plymouth (Day 73 of passage )
13/12 Departed Plymouth for Portsmouth at 11:05 secured alongside at HMS VERNON

Dave, particularly liked the one of Modeste, next time I visit my Mam in Barnsley I'll drag a few photo's from Dad's old album my brother has, it's got some good although rather small photo's of places visited around the time of your cruise card.
