Greetings!

Just wanted to add that these little buggers were nicknamed "Meerweibchen" (sea females) due to their bellylike looking and their gun mounts on the focsle.

Hello, all!

I consulted with one knowing man and he said that the pair of the ship without anchor-raising arrow on the bow-part are the "Heimdall" and the "Hagen" (instead of the "Siegfried"). SMS "Hagen" also had shortest funnels among the sister-ships.

Default Siegfried class coast defense ships in the Baltic 1914-1915.

Hello to all

I'm searching for information on the Siegfried class coast defense ships in the Baltic early in WWI. I know they were mobilized as the VI Battle Squadron, I know that SMS Beowulf was involved in bombarding Memel with a small German force, and I have seen a photo of SMS Hagen in camouflage painting in 1915. Beyond that I have found nothing. Has anyone heard anything more ? Were they used in the coastal bombardment role ?
