If the Navy has no intention of deploying the F-35, Then it would make more sense to wait and see what unfolds rather than the opposite......

The other point made about the Japanese limit's the size and type as per there constitution has been noted in previous postings. The other side of this is "what has the Navy" set as far as to size and type of naval ships they will build? Is it there Naval Doctrine?

These are not DDH's in the Canadian tradition. They might be helicopter carriers or amphibious aviation ships, if the V22 is operated from them. Add the F35B and one might call them escort carriers. In conclusion, they are an aircraft carrier of one sort or another.

Four LM2500 turbines are the main sources of power for these "destroyers."
