The latest incarnation of the DE RUYTER name as regards Dutch naval vessels, is this frigate (F-804) of ‘The Seven Provinces’ Class (English translation). The pictures were taken from the conning tower of the submarine TONIJN at the Maritime Museum in Den Helder. It gives a grand view across the dike onto the Waddenzee, with a nearby passage into the North Sea. Taken July 2012.

Two pictures of the current DE RUYTER (F804) in the Clyde yesterday (28 September 2017). Despite be classified as a frigate, she's a big ship: nearly the same size as the wartime cruiser.
